I have been renting here since before the construction started on my home in town. The rental was spotless when I first moved in, and I have had no issues during my time renting, that someone could not solve! I will not hesitate to use this company again if the need arises, as when I needed a second rental to store the doors and windows for construction when the materials arrived, I made one quick phone call, gave my info over the phone, and sent two people down to deliver and pack the material away. Simple, easy-peasy! I called this morning from Connecticut with a couple of questions, and Jenny was there to help me through and get me situated. She explained the changes and I was able to make my payment for the upcoming month!

I never used a storage unit before and was pleasantly surprised. The experience was great. Kristine was very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Note: updated review after management reached out with a satisfactory response regarding issues and removed information from my review regarding my credit card information being stolen because after further information came to light (my wife's card information was later compromised in the same way despite never giving that card information to Renegade) my card compromise does not appear to be related at all to Renegade and I also learned that Renegade has numerous protections in place for customer card information. Using Renegade was a bit of a hassle at first but after the initial hiccups has been ok. Those occurred a few days after I paid for the storage unit and tried to access it for the first time. Of the three separate gated areas my assigned gate code didn't work at one which was the gate which my original unit was behind. While on the phone with customer service at that gate another customer pulled up behind me and let me in, I told customer service that and they said I could proceed to the unit. I filled it up and an hour or so later they called back and stated I must be reassigned to a new unit. I had to go through the hassle of unloading all my belongings from the original unit and into the new unit.

Upon emptying almost all furniture had superficial powder mold, frustrating when you pay extra for climate control and still get mold. When I Called asking for some type of compensation, was told to file an insurance claim. Not much compassion from person I spoke with. Just be aware of the extra cost for climate control, might not be worth it!

We’ve been in J building for a year as of yesterday. I reported that there might be a leak come to find out the entire J building is leaking. That’s fine. They are requiring everyone move out. We were in a controlled 5x10 at $79 a month never been late and paid ahead. Instead of putting their “paying customers” in an another unit at the price that they are currently paying we have to pay more for a unit. Those damages though out the roof aren’t our fault. I also asked will we have first dibs on the units that we had at the current price we previously paid when the building is fixed? The call center said they can’t guarantee that. This is horrible customer service especially for those of us that have been in units for a year and on time with payments! The leaking roof isn’t on your customers!!!!!

It’s a nice storage facility and the help by phone is excellent. We dealt with NADZMA and found her to be very helpful. The problem was that we already had a unit and the roof was filled with literally hundreds of gallons of water that appeared ready to break and potentially damage our stuff. We spent days contacting them by phone and by email and while they were happy to give us another unit, they required that we move everything ourselves and refused to help in anyway. I explained that I’ve had a number of surgeries and that this would be difficult at best, but they continued to insist that it would all be my problem for any damage in the event that their roof broke and leaked all over my stuff. It is a good storage facility and well secured, etc. but I found it unfortunate that management would make their leaking roof my problem entirely. I feel that management should care enough to have taken responsibility for their building and have some concern for our belongings we pay them to store safely.

Only issue is the area just outside the entrance gate to the orange lot...many ruts, which bounces your goods around. It is also on a highway, so exiting is important to leave quickly onto the highway, but with the ruts, again, it will bounce your goods around. This to me is a serious issue, as a storage facility should have smooth access. The area needs a lot of work. P.S. (September 2023) Based on their response below, where they said they would contact me...they never did reach out to me. I vacated the units in June 2023, and have no need to contact them. I left my review, and as I still pass the storage facility regularly, I see the rutted area is not repaired. I also see the gate to the green lot often stuck open for days.

UPDATE: After leaving the review, this was fixed at least. Was reached out to by someone in admin, after several calls from previous months. Original calls was told it couldn’t be closed but admin was able to take care of it finally. Make sure to take pictures of empty units at the end of your rental with time stamps. Make sure to get names of all you speak to for references as well to make it easier on all involved. Admin was professional and very helpful with the two month battle of trying to get this canceled, headache ended. One month in for our rental, the gate refused to close until after we cancelled our rental. Been fighting with them for two months to cancel our rental so BEWARE this storage, they will try to bill you for months you don’t use if you aren’t careful!

Do NOT go here unless you want a nightmare including your card information being stolen! You have been warned! Using Renegade was an experience worse than I could have ever imagined. The first bad experience came a few days after I paid for the storage unit and tried to access it for the first time. Of the three seperate gated areas my assigned gate code didn't work at one which of course was the gate which my original unit was behind. While on the phone with customer service at that gate another customer pulled up behind me and let me in, I told customer service that and they said I could proceed to the unit. I filled it up and an hour or so later they called back and adamently insisted I must be reassigned to a new unit instead of just trying to correct the gate issue or giving me a new code (they had to give me a temporary code to reaccess the gate so that was clearly possible). I had to go through the hassle of unloading all my belongings from the original unit, being charged for a new unit with only a partial credit (not refund) for the original unit towards future payments on the new unit (in effect locking me with Renegade for longer). Then when I got to the new unit and saw it had a second door in the back that also needed to be secured and called Renegade they insisted I could only have one padlock for the front door and would have to purchase a second padlock myself after paying twice and spending the whole afternoon on this debacle which should only have taken a few minutes. Naively thinking my Renegade experience couldn't possibly get worse fast forward a week later and I get a fraud alert from my bank saying my card was used for a $330 charge in Singapore. This is a card I barely use, only charged it at two local restaurants in the past 3 weeks prior to the fraud alert besides using it to pay Renegade. I am more than 99% sure someone at Renegade stole my card information and/or sold it to someone else to use fraudulently. This criminal behavior could have done massive financial damage if my bank hadn't caught it and promptly alerted me.

We needed a storage unit for about 2 months to store our entire home of furnishings until we could close on a new home. We chose Renegade storage in Murphy. We paid $300 for a climate controlled unit per month. When we moved our furnishings out we realized that this unit’s outside walls are NOT sealed where it meets the concrete floor and water seeped in from outside (again zero sealant just a zink wall meeting concrete foundation) and soaked our 3 brand new memory foam mattresses, boxes and furniture stores against this wall. It is not worth the damage we now have to our furniture and absolutely not worth $300 a month! How can a unit be climate controlled if the walls aren’t even sealed at the floor?! We contacted the office immediately and they have not bothered to call us. Do not store here if you are looking for a dry storage unit!

Renegade Storage changed to new ownership around March '21. I've been a client for 6 months with 3 storage units and never a single issue until the new owners took over. Auto payment did not transfer across and even though they took my payment for March I was locked out Apr 1. Back and forth on the phone until they could find the receipts and new payment could be setup again. Then the gate was broken so I couldn't get into my storage unit. I drove 2 hours to get there and couldn't access my personal property. I drove the 2 hours again on May 1 and the gate was broke again. We are building a house in the local area and I cannot access stuff that needs installed. I called and was hung up on after they said 'sorry, nothing we can do about it.' How about having a local office instead of trying to run it from another state? Don't waste your time or money. Find a local storage company instead. I'm moving my stuff as soon as I can actually get access to it. They won't even offer me a discount for not providing me access to my property. You don't even get email notifications of payments made. You actually have to log into their website just to make sure paid shows.
